Bar Tartine

Published by at 10:40 am under Food

Valencia between 16th and 17th.

An offshoot of Tartine which is at Guerrero and 18th, this “wine bar” and restaurant has a limited menu that only changes occasionally, but the food is very good. Excellent. On a par with its name sake’s bread and pastries. It has an extensive wine list.

Not a cheap meal, but very tasty.

Tried it a second time and again the food was very good. Prosciuto like ham with medjool dates, Lemon shrimp risotto, and a really good “sticky date cake”,

We went to Bar Tartine on a Sunday night, and were told that they had a prix fix menu, with only ONE item that we could order from. We were sorely disappointed with the menu, as we were not given any choice but the one thing on the menu, and we were not told this at the time I made the reservation, which was two weeks ahead. I hope they discontinue this bad idea! When I am paying to go out, I like choices!

I never noticed a prix fix menu. Always went a’la carte and enjoyed it.
